Springtime artist in residence at Irving Street Projects, Matt Katsaros, presents Fielding Connections.  With this project, he attempts to activate and transform the gallery into a community space for art making and education through a series of programmed events.

Over the course of three months, Matt Katsaros will host discussions, workshops, open art making hours, and other events in collaboration with a dozen other participating Bay Area artists, designers, and educators.

Drawing from his background as a fiber artist and natural dyer, these events will be pulling inspiration from and exploring the biodiversity of the area surrounding the gallery in the Outer Sunset while educating a public on fiber arts and fiber systems.

Viewers are encouraged to interact regularly with the gallery not just for attending programmed events, but also as a hub for morsels of education put out over the three months in the form of printed materials, pamphlets, and maps available for pickup anytime.
